A research paper is the first step towards building up your research and academic skills. A research paper is, in itself, a simple paper with some academic research in it. This strategy will help you later on, when you have to format or reformat the 'works cited' page of your research paper.

Once you are done with writing and formatting, go through your research paper once again to make sure it's just the way you want it. Normally a research paper would require one or several editing passes before final submission. Once the research paper is done it might require binding, so leave some time for that too.
